Clean & Simple the ARTSY way!

In this article we are proudly presenting our new ARTsy-team
and with this we just had to challenge our selves and the new girls with a well-known theme...

Clean & Simple "the ARTSY way"

Artsy-style is not known as a clean & simple style at least most of the times,
so we just had to take this challenge!

Clean & Simple for me is a few embellishment, or none at all!
But, who says that the background has to be, right?

First the NEW GIRLS...

Angelica is from Sweden, and is pretty "new" to this world, but what a talent!
She has only done this for 2 years, and are already heavily into the artsy-crafting.
We are looking forward to get inspired by her in the months to come,
and look at what she has made for the first challenge...

Angelica says about her first card...
Background stamp from Tim Holtz, stamped on cardstock, Distress Ink around the edges. The whole background covered with bees wax to give it some ”depth” and a satin finish. Two pieces of an old tape measure and a frame cut with a Holtz/Sizzix die (Tag & Bookplates) Acrylic paint on the frame, and two brads to keep it in place. I guess it obvious that the card is for a friends 35:rd birtday :)

Angelica says about her second card...
Background stamped on black cardstock with a stamp from Ranger/Dyan Reaveley. Embossed with clear embossingpowder. Whitewashed with acrylic paint and then sanded down. A flower cut with the Sizzix/Holtz die Tattered florals, stamped with the same background stamp and colored with Distress Stain, a button in the middle.

Lisa from Sweden and you may know here as the designer for InkyWings and has been doing this since 1995. We are proudly to get this talented girl on our team, and her style will for sure inspire a lot of you! For this challenge, she has made this beautiful and colorful card...

Lisa says about her card...
I have played with "splashing" Distress Paint on a thicker cardstock. In order for you to get this wet look, you need to make the top of the stains full with color before you splash it on to the paper. If you did not get a good result the first time, make a new one on top of it until you get the result you want!

Mia is the last girl from Sweden, and has been doing cardmaking for many years. She has been on other well-know designteams, and have now exepted to be one of the ARTsy-girls. We are looking forward to a lot of inspiratin, and for this challenge she has made a card & a tag for the challenge...

The card is stamped and embossed with a gold embossing powder. I used the resist techniqe and painted over the image with distress inks. I took a baby wipe and dabbed over the wet paint to get the effect of a sky.

Mia says about her tag...
I started out by painting my tag with gesso and then decorated it with cheese cloth and a piece of rug canvas. I used different decorations from my stash and then painted over with gesso again to get a clean look.

Linda is from Norway and has been doing this since 2009. She love that this hobby doesn't have any boundries, and like the playfullness. So, this could not go wrong :-) We just had to have this girl on the team :-) And, look what she has made...

I made a little wallet out of a size 10 tag in black.. First I started with the prima brick stencil and dabbed over it with the white prima chalck.. After this I took out my bead gel and added it in a random fashion, almost covering the entire tag.. Then came a layer of glimmer mist dazzling diamonds.. folded and added the brad from Prima Engraverline, the little white ones from WOC and the magnet that holdt it all together together with the brad..

If you want to see more from Linda, please take a look here!

We welcome all 4 girls to our team,
and looking forward to working with you!

 And then the "old girls"...

Clean & simple with Distress Ink on mini misters in the colors "Tea Dye", "Pumise Stone" & "Mustard Seed" on a Watercolor paper. Stamped the North Stars' new stamp with Archival and added some more Distress Ink with a waterbrush. Easy, fast and fun :-)

Silje's card...

Both backgrounds on the card are made with Art Anthology Colorations Spray, stencil and water. The 3 stars are also colored with Colorations spray in a mix of two colors. Backgrounds are created on kraft cardstock.
